The Searchies

Scott Tieman is the principal author of The Searchies search marketing blog. He brings an unparalleled passion, level of insight, and enthusiasm to his writing, reflecting his desire to spread the gospel of search. In fact, his goal is to help write the book on search marketing. He is an experienced internet marketer and certified search professional who currently works for Red Bricks Media in San Francisco, CA.

In May 2007, Scott completed a MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. During his studies, he specialized in marketing and was the President of the Haas Marketing Club and a VP of the Berkeley Digital Media and Entertainment Club. Scott interned briefly for Yahoo! in Summer 2006 helping the company research the emerging social media landscape.

Before Haas, Scott worked as a Senior Consultant for Accenture. In this role, he helped change the way America gets its projection televisions, canned fruit, and tanks.

Finally, Scott is a poker enthusiast. His most notable accomplishment to date was his winning the 2007 World Series of Poker MBA Poker Championships in Las Vegas, NV, besting a field of over 400 talented players.
